Founded in 1676, Lock & Co Hatters is the world’s oldest remaining hat shop. This brand book brochure was designed in dedication to their heritage to celebrate their 365-year-long legacy. The approach is to transport people into a very significant time in Lock & Co’s rich history. The brochure’s 19th-century English Newspaper design language inspires the book’s choice of historical typography styles and grids. Specific content is being displayed as fake advertisements, and then nestled between real newspaper articles from 19th century London are being used as functional negative space and texture. The book was printed by a printing press in the UK, and it's held together just by the fold of the papers. The nostalgic scent, thinness, and texture of the pages complete the time-traveling experience.
