The Normandie Hotel
Student Work
The mission for this project is to rebrand the Normandie Hotel, a Puerto Rican community symbol since 1942, to restore its historical importance. By embracing their heritage and reconnecting with the island's culture, the design aims to reignite community celebrations around this cultural landmark. Our approach embraces the hotel's art deco architecture, inspired by the SS Normandie French ocean liner, infusing vibrant island hues, and nostalgic black-and-white photography. This creates a perpetual summer ambiance, breathing new life into images and establishing a deeper connection to memories. Successfully balancing luxury with approachability, the design rekindles the liveliness of the historical Normandie, garnering positive client reactions and expanding the hotel's audience.
